Mother and Gail were only married a handful of years. Mom raised us girls by herself, holding down two jobs. They were hard years, but mom was always positive. She enjoyed her music, was always singing. Her favorite thing was to take us to either the Oregon Coast, Rooster Rock on the Columbia River or Blue Lake. She was unsinkable and often sang songs through her struggles. Then she met a wonderful man, John Hobbs. They made a lovely home and life together spending much time on the Oregon coast which they both loved. John was tragically killed in an auto accident. Again mother was alone and struggled. She met another man who talked her into moving (with Mary and Tina) to Florida. There she lived until she passed away.
