When Mom moved to Florida, the good thing was she now lived closer to Terry and Tracy and their families, who lived in Texas. She became very involved in the raising of her grandchildren who lived close by, even adopting Mary's Blair who remained very close to her until the end. WOn one of my last visits to her, she made my husband and I a glorious seafood dinner with all her favorite foods. She then gave me a cookbook which featured her picture and profile in it along with a southern seafood recipe.
Since she knew I had her recipe box, the last conversation I had with her on the phone just a few days ago was one asking if I could send her her favorite New Orleans Shrimp recipe so she could share it.
When she accepted Christ into her life several years ago, it was joyful news to our family. And in the last few months of her life she shared how her confidence that God was in control of her life, gave her the peace she needed to carry her through to the end. I miss her.
